Sofia Dumansky, Financial Adviser through Eagle Strategies LLC, A Registered Investment Advisor, owns and operates Legatum Financial LLC. She began her career in the financial services industry in 2007 and has acquired extensive knowledge through her unique and diverse experiences that have proved invaluable to her clients.
Combining the use of a macro-financial process, Sofia’s clients benefit from more efficient and cost-effective techniques designed to help achieve their identified and unique goals. She believes that “The greatest challenge people face in today’s financial environment is trying to realize all of their financial objectives with finite resources. We look for strategic positioning and movement of money to accomplish our clients’ objectives.” Her mission is to help her clients envision, create, and implement strategies that will achieve benefits in the areas of wealth accumulation, tax strategies, and improved protection management for a more enjoyable financial life.
Sofia maintains life and health insurances, and securities licenses FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65. She is a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), is currently a Community Leader, and has been actively involved in the Innovation, Bylaws, and Ethics Committees.
Sofia migrated with her family to the United States from Ukraine in 1992 and speaks Ukrainian and Polish fluently, as well as understands Russian. She continues to be an active member of the Ukrainian and Polish communities and is involved in her local chamber of commerce and BNI (Business Networking International).
Sofia is also a co-founder of Maidan United Inc., a Hartford-based non-profit focusing on delivering much needed medical supplies to Ukraine. She’s an active board member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) and previously served two terms as President. She is also a past board member and Treasurer for COHI (Connecticut Oral Health Initiative).
Sofia graduated from UCONN with a Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) from the School of Business with a minor in International Business. In 2006, she received her Masters of Science in Management (MSM) with Honors and in 2008 obtained her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with Honors, both from Albertus Magnus College.
Sofia enjoys playing tennis and volleyball, as well as skiing and hiking.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a graduate degree achieved at a university or college that provides theoretical and practical training to help graduates gain a better understanding of general business management functions. The MBA degree can have a specific focus such as accounting, finance or marketing. An MBA is a level up from an undergraduate business degree, and once achieved generally places the graduate well above those with only undergraduate degrees. Most major universities and colleges provide MBA programs, which usually last two years.
Master of Science in Management (MSM)
The MSM degree program provides state-of-the-art advanced leadership education, knowledge and skills to its students. This degree program combines core leadership topics with the knowledge executives need to progress to the next level in thought leadership and influence within their organization. The major emphasis in the program is using leadership concepts to ethically lead the organization, drive managerial processes and systems, and leader development. The MSM is an accredited Master's degree program. Developed by a team of academic and practitioner experts at The American College, with the guidance of an advisory committee including representatives from Ernst & Young, Merrill Lynch, MetLife, Morgan Stanley, New York Life, Wells Fargo and other organizations, the MSM program delivers results.
Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC)
CLTC stands for "Certified in Long-Term Care," a designation granted by the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification. CLTC graduates have completed a rigorous multidisciplinary course that focuses on the profession of long-term care planning. The program is recognized by state regulators, through the granting of continuing education credits, as having provided essential information necessary to the appropriate sale of long-term care insurance. Long-term care insurance is a complex product. It offers many forms of protection and pricing structures. A CLTC professional is highly trained in the field of long-term care and knows the right questions to ask. Their goal, like all professionals, is to help you solve your needs.
Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF)
LUTCF stands for "Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow,” the designation is only granted to individuals that complete the nine-week course and meet all the qualifications. The designation teaches advisors techniques and best practices used in life insurance and annuities, health and employee benefits, financial advising, and investments.
